Angels Booted From Courthouse

Hells Angels MC
California - SAN DIEGO – Timothy "Fuzzy" Timms, a 45-year-old member of the Hells Angels Motorcycle club, stood up Monday for his First Amendment right to freedom of expression.
Timms, a resident of the San Diego community of South Park, refused to take off a black leather vest with the motorcycle club's "death's head" insignia when he reported for jury duty. He's a big burly man, 5 feet 8 inches, 250 pounds, with a full beard and auburn-colored, shoulder-length hair.
At 7:45 a.m., Timms' stance got him booted from the San Diego Superior Court's Hall of Justice by sheriff's deputies, along with another Hells Angel who also refused to remove his insignia vest.

FBI wants widespread monitoring of 'illegal' Internet activity
|
|
WASHINGTON--The FBI on Wednesday called for new legislation that would allow federal police to monitor the Internet for "illegal activity."
The suggestion from FBI Director Robert Mueller, which came during a House of Representatives Judiciary Committee hearing, appears to go beyond a current plan to monitor traffic on federal-government networks. Mueller seemed to suggest that the bureau should have a broad "omnibus" authority to conduct monitoring and surveillance of private-sector networks as well.
The surveillance should include all Internet traffic, Mueller said, "whether it be .mil, .gov, .com--whichever network you're talking about."

HBO Drama Incurs Wrath of Hell's Angels Founder
|
|
HBO might have a biker-sized problem on its hands with a potential new series, "1%."
According to a lawsuit filed yesterday in federal court in Los Angeles by famed Hells Angels founder Sonny Barger, the script, concept and elements in the show were developed with his collaboration. However, the complaint contends that HBO, the White Mountain Company, and writer/producer Michael Tolkin cut him out of the project and violated many of his publicity rights when he demanded changes so as not to dilute his own brand.

Police fear violence as outlaw bikers move to Oregon
|
|
The Mongols motorcycle club risks retaliation as it pushes into rival turf~
On a rainless Saturday in February, hundreds of outlaw bikers and their associates roared into the west end of Eugene, bottlenecking on a back street between warehouses and train tracks. The brothers killed their engines and poured into the clubhouse of the Free Souls Motorcycle Club.
They came to celebrate the club's 1968 founding, an annual rite of biker bacchanalia called the Birthday Party. And waiting for them, as they do every year, were the cops.
The uniforms took positions on nearby streets, writing tickets, taking snapshots of biker insignia and standing ready in case of trouble. But the stakes for this year's party were higher than ever, Eugene police Capt. Chuck Tilby said, because the Mongols were in town.

Extra precautions needed if biker case went to trial
|
|
Had the case against a former Bandidos Motorcycle Club member gone to trial, special steps would have been taken to protect the safety of jurors.
Francesco (Cisco) Lenti, 60, of Vaughan, wearing a black shirt and black pants, appeared in a Newmarket courtroom Monday and pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of David John (Dread) Buchanan, 32, the sergeant at arms for the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club West Toronto Chapter.
He also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the December 2006 woundings of Hells Angels member Dana Carnegie and then-Hells Angels prospect Carlo Verrelli at Club Pro, in the Jane Street and Hwy. 7 area.

Oregon bikers beat national safety record

Donna writes "
~Training credited with keeping state fatalities lower~
~Oregon's motorcycle riders have earned an enviable safety record during the past six years, consistently beating the national fatality rate for bike crashes, according to state and national statistics.
Riders here have died less frequently in wrecks than those across the United States, despite having 43 percent more motorcycles on Oregon roads than there were in 2001, according to statistics kept by the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Biker Turf War Escalating in Germany
|
|
Germany - The Bandidos and the Hell's Angels are waging all-out war for dominance in Germany. Court testimony by a former member -- who crossed his gang and is now living in protective custody -- is providing frightening details about these secretive societies.
Rolf D.'s discomfort on the witness stand is difficult to ignore. The corpulent 53-year-old man, wearing an oversized blue sweatshirt and baggy jeans, shifts nervously back and forth in his seat and asks for a glass of water. Deep rings under his eyes bear witness to his exhaustion -- fatigue borne out of fear. "I have my problems," the truck driver tells the presiding judge in the district court in the northern German city of Münster. "You can bet on that."

Hells Angels drink in 60 years
|
|
CA - YUCAIPA - Darkness cloaked a batch of bikers clad in black leather vests as they rolled into the Hells Angels' 60th anniversary bash Friday night, but nothing could obscure the thunderous roar of Harley-Davidsons arriving en masse. Residents lined Dunlap Boulevard to snap photographs of the notorious motorcycle club as the first members arrived at 7:41 p.m.
Several partygoers at Angels Roadhouse Bar and Grill paused with beer bottles halfway to their lips to watch the first 75 bikers pour into the spacious red tavern.

Hells Angel Barger shares life with hogs, horses
|
|
Donna writes "Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:20am EDT
CAVE CREEK, Ariz (Reuters) - Sonny Barger spends as much time these days on his horse as his hog.
Dressed in a battered Stetson hat, blue jeans and cowboy boots with chrome spurs, the legendary Hells Angels patriarch forever identified with the motorcycle club that turns 60 on Monday, keeps a small ranch near Phoenix.
"If I learn to ride a horse like I can ride a motorcycle, the rodeo had better watch out," quipped Barger, relaxing on the desert plot where he keeps two customized Harley Davidson "hog" bikes and several horses.

Bikers turn to the courts to recover
|
|
Donna writes "
Philadelphia. - Bikers turn to the courts to recover seized property
Three Hells Angels want their guns back. In fact, the Angels also want their framed poems, black leather vests, gun permits, drivers' licenses, personal papers and biker memorabilia.
In a federal civil-rights lawsuit, Alan "Big Al" Wolf, of Denver, Pa., Peter Miller, of Pennsburg, Pa., and Gregory "George" Suny, of Upper Darby, say the Philly cops won't give back the items seized during a 2005 raid in West Philadelphia.
